The vbscript capturing data and storing in CSV files had been working for a long time and then suddenly it stopped working. There are no changes made to Quickbooks application, the company file setup and the certifications for QODBC are still present.
Cleared QODBC Messages and Cleared Trace Log. SDK log mentions, "Could not create instance of QuickBooks. hr = 8004041C"
Current version of QODBC - 8 QB Enterprise Soln - Mfg & WhlSl Ed. 7 (two integrated apps accessible). DB engine is 9.0.2.3267
Updated QODBC to version 9 without success.
Please help! |

| Error 80040408 - could not start Quickbooks. Make sure QuickBooks isn't running already. Also if you have upgraded QuickBooks, you will need a new QODBC CDKey Code. |

A reinstall of the driver worked. Now I have two instances of Flexquarters, both of which have signed certificate and have been granted with user access to log in automatically. Now the driver works only when QuickBooks is running, even though both instances have automatic access on and the DSN has automatic access turned on as well. Any reason why this could be? |

An alternate solution worked. Backup and restore the QBW file.
The restored file does not retain the certificate for remote QODBC connection. It retains only the fully-certified certificate. After restore, test QODBC connection with vb test application. This will prompt for certification in QB. Setup certificate and close QB. Remote connection now works. |
